People who have been a part of a wedding know how stressful the process can be, no matter the size of the wedding. There are a lot of vendors and deliveries to handle and manage, for example. Thankfully, the following advice will help reduce the stress of your wedding.

The single most important factor when you are getting married is also the most obvious, your choice in bride or groom. Never rush into this decision that will change your life. Consider the things you need in a relationship, the thing you’d prefer to do without, and how all this applies to your potential partner.

If the idea of a thousand-dollar, thousand-calorie wedding cake leaves you with cold feet, contact local boutiques and specialty bakeries and ask about smaller, individual-sized portions. You may be able to find a bakery willing to provide freshly-baked cupcakes that are low-calorie and available in healthier options for family with special dietary needs such as gluten or sugar-free.

Check your wedding venue to emsure that there will be enough room for a dance floor. Nothing is worse than everyone being crammed together during a dance, so move things out of the way to help create extra space.

When you choose to invite family members to join you at your destination wedding, ask them if they would like to stay for the honeymoon, as well! Longer stays at hotels are often discounted so it’ll save you money in the long run. Then you can have a memorable wedding and your guests will enjoy a mini vacation.

Schedule your reception for midday. You will find that people are not so ready to drink heavily during the day, which will cut back on the costs of an open bar. In addition, you can save money by serving lunch instead of dinner at your reception. You may be able to purchase a higher-quality menu at lunch time for the price you would have paid for dinner. Keep in mind that if you spend less on food, you can use the savings to pay for another service your wedding requires.

Although you may have found and purchased the perfect dress, it is a good idea to have the bridal shop hold it until the big day. It can get damaged or wrinkled while hanging in your closet. Having it at the shop means it will be unwrinkled for the big day.

Place your colorful wedding cake on a swatch of fabric that coordinates with the cake. Good options include designer prints, novelty fabrics or special occasion fabrics like satin, velvet or silk.

If you would like a relative or a friend to perform your wedding ceremony, you can ask that person to become ordained via an online program. Doing so allows for individual customization of your personal ceremony, and it can also save you having to spend money on an officiant. Make sure this is a legal practice in your state before you get somebody ordained.

Now that you understand what it takes to plan a wedding, you can get started right away. Whether you are planning a wedding for yourself or someone else, you’ll find these tips quite helpful.
